About Résumé / CV Builder

The Resume / CV Builder is a free, browser-based tool that turns your typed experience into a clean, formatted resume you export as a PDF. You fill in your name, contact line, summary, custom sections (experience, education, etc.) and skills, pick from 10 templates, and watch a live preview update as you type. Because the resume is rendered as real, selectable, ATS-friendly text and exported through your browser's own Save-as-PDF, nothing is uploaded — your personal details and work history stay on your device, with no signup.

How to use Résumé / CV Builder

  1. Fill in the header fields: your name, title/role, and a contact line (separate items with · or |), plus a short summary.
  2. Build out sections like Experience or Education — each entry takes a role/degree heading, company/school, a period (e.g. 2021 — Present), and achievement bullets, one per line.
  3. Use Add entry, Add section, and the trash buttons to shape the resume; add free-text Skills, which appear as their own section.
  4. Pick one of the 10 templates in the picker to change the layout, accent color, and font; the live preview updates instantly.
  5. Click Save as PDF — this opens your browser's print dialog, where you choose 'Save as PDF' as the destination to download the file.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Resume / CV Builder free?
Yes. It is completely free with no signup and no account required. Build and export as many resumes as you like.
Are my resume details uploaded to a server?
No. The entire resume is built, laid out, and exported in your browser, and personal details are never uploaded. Your work history and contact info stay on your device.
What file format does it export?
It exports a PDF. The resume renders as real, selectable text and is saved through your browser's built-in Save-as-PDF print option, so there is no separate file conversion.
Will the resume pass applicant tracking systems (ATS)?
It is designed to. The document is generated as real, selectable HTML text rather than an image, which keeps it ATS-parseable so screening software can read your content.
How many templates are there and can I change the look?
There are 10 templates spanning different layouts, accent colors, and serif or sans-serif fonts. Selecting one updates the live preview right away, and your choice is remembered.
Will my work be saved if I close the tab?
Yes. Your resume content and selected template are stored locally in your browser, so they persist when you return — but they live only on that device and browser, not in the cloud.
