About Video Trimmer & Cutter

The Video Trimmer & Cutter shortens a video or removes an unwanted section from the middle — entirely in your browser. Drop in a clip, drag the two handles (or type exact times) to mark a range, then either keep just that range as one file or cut it out and export the two remaining parts. Fast mode copies the original video data without re-encoding, so it is near-instant and completely lossless; Frame-exact mode re-encodes so the cut lands precisely on your chosen times. Everything runs on your device with WebCodecs — the video is never uploaded, and there is no watermark, signup, or file queue.

How to use Video Trimmer & Cutter

  1. Drop a video (MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV or MPEG-TS) onto the page — it opens instantly with its dimensions, duration and size.
  2. Drag the start and end handles on the track, type times like 1:30 or 90 into the Start/End fields, or press "⟵" to grab the player's current position. Arrow keys nudge a handle by 0.1s (Shift for 1s).
  3. Pick a cut mode: Keep selection exports just the marked range as one file; Remove selection cuts it out and exports the parts before and after it as part 1 and part 2.
  4. Choose precision: Fast (lossless) copies the original packets and snaps cuts to keyframes; Frame-exact re-encodes so the cut lands on the exact frame.
  5. Pick MP4 or WebM, press the export button, and watch the progress bar — you can cancel anytime.
  6. Preview each result right on the page and hit Save to download it.

Frequently asked questions

Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. The file is opened, trimmed and re-muxed entirely inside your browser using the WebCodecs engine your browser ships with. Nothing ever leaves your device — you can even go offline after the page loads.
Why does Fast mode not cut exactly where I placed the handles?
Fast mode copies the original compressed video data without re-encoding, which is instant and 100% lossless — but a video stream can only start on a keyframe, and keyframes typically occur every 1–2 seconds. So the cut snaps to the nearest keyframe. If you need the cut on an exact frame, switch to Frame-exact, which re-encodes the video (slower, with a tiny quality trade-off).
Does it add a watermark?
Never. The output is your own video, trimmed — no watermark, no logo, no signup, and no duration limit tricks. Free means free.
How large a video can I trim?
Up to 2 GB. Because processing is streamed on your own device, speed depends on your hardware — but Fast mode barely touches the CPU since it copies packets instead of re-encoding them.
Will the audio stay in sync after trimming?
Yes. Audio and video are trimmed together on the same timeline and re-muxed into the output, so sync is preserved. In Fast mode the audio may start a fraction of a second before the first video keyframe (players handle this cleanly); Frame-exact mode aligns both streams to your exact cut point.
