URL & UTM Builder is a free, browser-based tool that appends Google Analytics tracking parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content) to one URL or a whole list at once. Fill in the UTM fields and it returns a clean tagged URL, a ready-to-paste HTML anchor tag, and a scannable QR code — built with the standard URL API and the qrcode library so existing query parameters are preserved. Everything runs locally in your browser; nothing is uploaded and there is no signup.

How to use URL & UTM Builder

  1. Pick Single mode for one link or Bulk mode to tag many URLs at once.
  2. Enter your Base URL (Single) or paste one full URL per line in the textarea (Bulk); existing query params are kept.
  3. Fill in the UTM fields you need — utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content; blank fields are left off.
  4. Leave 'Clean values' on to lowercase and slugify each value (choose the a-b or a_b separator), or turn it off to keep raw text.
  5. In Single mode, copy the Tagged URL or HTML anchor, set an optional Anchor label, and download the QR code as a PNG.
  6. In Bulk mode, review the Processed / Total / Invalid counts, then copy the tagged URLs or download them as tagged-urls.txt.

Are my URLs or data uploaded to a server?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser — URLs are parsed, tagged, and the QR code is generated locally on your device, and nothing is ever uploaded.
Is it free and do I need an account?
Yes, it's completely free with no signup, account, or watermark.
What does the 'Clean values' option actually do?
It normalizes each UTM value to lowercase and collapses spaces and symbols into a single separator (you choose '-' or '_'), so 'Google Ads' becomes 'google-ads'. This keeps analytics from splitting one source across casing and spacing variants. Turn it off to keep raw text, where spaces encode as '+' per the URL spec.
What happens if my base URL already has query parameters or UTM tags?
Existing query parameters are preserved. If the URL already contains UTM params you're also filling in, the values you enter replace them and the tool shows an info notice so you know they were overwritten.
How does Bulk mode handle invalid lines?
Each line must be a complete URL starting with http:// or https://; any line that isn't a valid absolute URL is skipped and listed under 'Invalid', while the valid ones are tagged. The bulk textarea is capped at 500,000 characters since parsing runs on every keystroke.
Can I get an HTML link or QR code, not just the URL?
Yes. In Single mode the tool also outputs a ready-to-copy HTML <a> anchor (with an optional custom Anchor label that defaults to your campaign name) and a QR code of the tagged URL that you can download as a PNG.
